27th J-PARC Muon g-2/EDM collaboration meeting at Niigata University

Meng has attended the 27th J-PARC Muon g-2/EDM Collaboration Meeting at Niigata University and presented a talk about the status of the muon polarization monitor. The exchange between the Shanghai Muon Physics Group and the KEK/J-PARC Muon Physics group has became a regular and we hope for a stronger collaboration in the future!

ICFA Seminar 2023

Kim Siang was recently invited to give an overview talk on electromagnetic dipole moments at the prestigious ICFA seminar 2023 on “Future Perspectives in High Energy Physics”. It is a four-day international exchange of information concentrating on plans for future facilities in the field of particle physics. The meeting is by invitation only and comprises the directors of most of the world’s major laboratories in our field, senior particle and accelerator physicists, and government science officials from several countries. Please visit the link for more details about the meeting: https://indico.desy.de/event/38293/.

MELODY 2023

Our group recently participated in the first Workshop on Muon Science Technology and Industry (MELODY2023) at the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). Kim Siang presented our group’s efforts in the Shanghai Muon Source, the Fermilab Muon g-2 experiment and the PSI muEDM experiment. All the progress would not be possible without the hardwork of all the group members! More information about the workshop can be found here: https://indico.ihep.ac.cn/event/20601/.

Faculty-student exchange session at the Zhiyuan Innovative Research Center (ZIRC) 2024

On Oct 25, 2023, Kim-Siang presented a poster about “Precise measurements of muon properties and muon factory” at the faculty-student exchange sesssion (2024年“致远学者研究计划”师生交流会) at the Zhiyuan Innovative Research Center (ZIRC). Original report about the event can be found here: https://zhiyuan.sjtu.edu.cn/html/zhiyuan/news_view.php?id=4001.

NuFact 2023: The 24th International Workshop on Neutrinos from Accelerators

Our group participated in the NuFACT 2023 conference at Seoul National University and presented some technical talks on the Fermilab Muon g-2 experiment (Kim Siang) and the PSI MuEDM experiment (Guan Ming). A poster about the Nov 2022 test beam of the MuEDM project was also presented (Jun Kai). It was great to reconnect with many long-time friends from Japan, Europe and the US. Apart from the rich physics program, the organizer also allocated half a day for an excursion in Seoul. We visited the famous Gyeongbokgung (the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty), The National Folk Museum of Korea (inside of Gyeongbokgung) and the National Museum of Korea.Conference banquet was held in the FKI Plaza (on the 50th floor) Sesangui Modeun Achim with a great night view of the Seoul city. More information about the conference can be found here: http://nufact2023.snu.ac.kr/index.html.

Muon g-2 Physics Week at Liverpool 2023

Kim Siang participated in the first in-person Physics Week of the Muon g-2 collaboration at Liverpool since he joined the TDLI in 2019. He presented the current status of the precession frequency analysis of the SJTU group, co-organized the precession frequency analysis workshop, and gave a talk about detector acceptance at the beam dynamics workshop. All these were made possible with continuous contributions from Cheng, Yonghao and Jun Kai over the past few months.
