Fabo gave a talk on “from the extinction of dinosaurs to second solar system: an overview of the important role of interdisciplinary talents in original innovations” in the Pudong international talent hub forum on Dec. 7, 2022.
Tianyu pathfinder will be funded by Jiaoda 2030 Type-B grant. The Tianyu project will be formally launched in 2023 and will start to do transit and time-domain survey in 2024.
Shanghai party chief visited TDLI on Feb. 21, 2022, and hopefully the Tianyu project (a multi-object high precision spectrograph connected to four 1-meter sized telescope array located in Qinghai Lenghu) would be funded soon (link to the news).

Fabo is co-organizing an interdisciplinary (ID) meeting with other faculty members of the TDLI. We hope to break the “wall” between different divisions/disciplines in order to foster collaborations and establish new frontiers. (2021-06-15)

According to NASA exoplanet archive, 45 exoplanets have been confirmed or discovered by Fabo during his postdoc in the UK and the US, including Earths, super-Earths, Neptunes, super-Neptunes, and cold Jupiters. Let’s look forward to more fantastic discoveries by the TDLI exoplanet group in the coming years. (2020-12-20)
